Mounted Combat
Mounted Combat
Mounts are combatants if they’re either sapient or carnivorous. Otherwise, they’re noncombatants. The following adjustments apply for mounts & their riders:
- Saddles: Riders without saddles must Save each time the mount takes damage or fall from a distance equal to half the mount’s Size.
- Incapacitation: If a mount or rider is Incapacitated or killed, the rider(s) must Save or fall from their saddle(s). A non-combatant mount will flee battle if all riders are Incapacitated or killed.
- Movement: Uses the mount’s scores.
- Attacks: Non-combatant mounts can only attack with their rider during a Charge Action. Combatant mounts get their own set of Actions on their rider’s Turn.
Sapient or Panicked mounts may ignore their riders’ wishes & take erratic action at the GM’s discretion.
