Battles
Battles are intended for large-scale battles held between any number of individuals (but especially any battle above 12 combatants) where speed is more important than detail.
Battles take place as a series of Rounds. Each Round represents an entire segment of battle & terminates with the elimination (Defeat) of a number of combatants (Units). Rather than tracking HP & Damage on a per-character basis, each side’s combat ability is summarized using their Battle Rating & then tested via commanders’ abilities combined with abstracted bonuses for terrain & other tactical considerations. There are comparatively few tactical decisions required, with the few remaining largely relegated to the choice to use single-use items (where applicable) & the decision of when to flee (if your side has taken too many Defeats for winning to remain viable, or if your tactical position is obviously insufficient to overcome the odds you face).
No grid, miniatures, or map is required.
