Oropolis & Kain

Kain & the Oropolis

The Golden God-Emperor. The Second Phoenix. The Absent King. Here he’s hid for 20 years, cloistered from his children in a vast temple-mountain of every wonder & pleasure. Who can breach his fortress?

  • He could be persuaded. He is on the edge, watching the smoke and fire rise from his realm, watching the bloodshed and the slaughter. But he could just as easily sink into history’s grasp — he’s seen it all, after all. The last four universes & their countless billions of years. What’s one more failed zen garden to let die by abandonment?
  • His wife, Yuko, is out there somewhere. Maybe she has the zealousness to restore her husband’s mind.

Role in the Scenario

  • He built Glass. He’s the axis for the entire empire’s history.
  • Persuading him is a valid means of obtaining legitimacy for conquest, or to re-stabilize the realm after conquest via obtaining blessing.
  • It is also a potential victory for parties who’d rather delegate the role of “god” to an external justification. “Restore the rightful emperor.”
