Commons Revolt

factionsmajorscenario

  • Capital: Cerces (8,000)
  • Leader: General Ram (Lv8)
    • One of the five salamander mining guilds have an uneasy alliance with you in the belief you will liberate them.
    • If General Ram is leading a siege, the Families of a Settlement cannot be added to the BR of the defenders while determining siege duration.
  • Bonus Victory Agenda: Stop the war by any means and totally strip the Governors (Lords & Magistrates) of their special privileges. Establish an at least nominally republican government or persuade Kain to return to the throne as God-Emperor of Glass.

Everything went to hell the instant Kain abdicated his throne. There was five years of “peace” between the Autumn Massacre of the Imperial court and the outbreak of the Coraler invasion, & even those were fraught with confusion, accusations of illegitimacy, murder, rapid imposition of tyranny, defection & decay. And before anyone could finish handling the invasion, the Mother Empress went insane & everyone started killing each other for the right to rule. All of the old wonders are broken. Famines are raging. Bandits flood the lands. The entire world is on fire. If someone doesn’t act, there will be nothing left.

You are the populist military leader of a massive Commons revolt against the corruption, decadence, and collective failures of the entire leadership of Glass that has been steadily accumulating since the day the Second Phoenix delegated his command to an unworthy mortal bastard. Born to a potter & raised by a Magistrate as the “son” of a Lord, you’ve seen every level of Glassian society & every flaw & crack that’s splintered this society from cornice to pedestal. Every single one of these “Lords” is an illegitimate pretender. Kill them all.

Your plan is simple: Force every single Lord to bend the knee & renounce their nobility, march into the temple-city of Heaven’s Peak, and either bring Kain back to the throne as God-Emperor or set up a republican government with his counsel.

You are not strictly egalitarian & are still knowing of the superiority of Glassians, but your popular base includes many salamanders, harpies, and a few Coralers who believe that at the very least you won’t throw them out of Glass.

  • Principal Assets: You are the most accomplished & dangerous general in present Glassian history. You are beloved across the Commons to almost the extent that Kain is, and receive no resistance from the average man. You have minimal experience in stewardship. You are a murderer and a mercenary. Every ounce of populist energy you summon is the embodiment of rage, and if it has form it is only because you shape it. Your people are furiously loyal but unstable and untrained. Eschewing the extant elite means you have no counter-elite to work with, which is the most dangerous possible position for an upstart rebellion.
