Twintail Priestess
- Races: Mostly human, but theoretically open to any.
- Sex: Both.
It is said that long ago, in the annals of the world’s deepest history — before the ice & the horrors of past ages, before even the Aether existed — that a past world existed, over which a beautiful goddess reigned.
And that the goddess wore twintails.
Detractors may call you an insane fertility cult. What a bunch of idiots! The efficacy of the magic is the proof itself. From one came two & from there spilled out fractal spiraling eternities. All the world emerged from a single act of division. Heaven’s breath is harmonics; it is a duality given charge & direction.
I was never very good at killing my darlings.
Yes, the cult & class is canon, but it will remain hidden in an appendix.
Tradition Feature
- Twintail Cultist: Two is company. Everything comes in a duality. There’s magic in the harmony of the stars, in the love between two hearts, & in the song of two blades in war. You love symbolism. You love harmonics, rhythm, multiplication, fertility, hair, bonds & numismatics. You hate death, singularities, absolutes, finite reality & boundaries.
- Hands used for dual-wielding two one-handed weapons count as empty hands for the sake of casting.
- You cannot hurt twintails, or people who are wearing twintails. If you’re female, you must wear twintails to cast spells.
- A single touch is sufficient to tie a willing character’s hair up in twintails & simultaneously protect the hair & roots from damage (such as loss of pigmentation or stress from wearing hair up too long) for one week.
Spells
- The Twintails of Miracles: Double the quantity of up to [Sum] edible objects within 30’. The copied objects persist forever. Special effects beyond satiation of hunger are not copied … including poisons & other harmful effects.
- Two Revolution: Touched target character or object is immediately spun a number of degrees according to the caster’s desire, up to 360° around an axle that passes through the object’s touched point. You may choose to make the rotation fast enough to automatically injure struck characters for up to [Dice] + [Sum] Damage of the appropriate Type. The spinning target is immune to Damage while being spun.
- Stirring of the Kami: Grow the head hair of a target within 30’ by up to [Sum] feet, permanently. This immediately adds a −1 penalty to vision & if the length exceeds the target’s height, their effective movement rate is halved.
- Twintails Tied Together: Prevent a bond (of any sort) whose body or ends are within 120’ from being undone, willingly or unwillingly, for [Dice] × [Dice] days. Doesn’t matter if it’s a rope knot, patch of glue, or relationship.
- Twintailed Days: Create a twintail-wearing female clone of a target character within 30’ who loves twintails. The twin does not come with any kind of gear or any other possessions that the original was wearing. In [Sum] hours, the twin abruptly re-merges with their originator, who receives and keeps all of the twin’s memories.
- If a twin is killed, their originator must choose between either permanently losing half their Hit Dice or permanently losing their love for twintails. In the case of those possessing this Tradition, this causes a permanent loss of the school’s perk, cantrips, & ability to attract any additional spells in this list. In either case, they can never receive another twin again.
- If cast with 4+ MD, the twin lasts forever. The consequences of the twin’s death remains.
- The Twintailed Foe: For [Sum] Rounds, up to [Sum] targets within 30’ have their Saves fail automatically if any die involved in the roll produces a result containing the digit 2.
- What Twintails Wish For: Touched twintail-wearing female gains a +2 bonus on Persuasion & Negotiation Saves for [Dice] hours. In addition, characters without a good & immediate reason to refuse requests from the target do not do so.
- The Day Twintails Disappeared: Up to [Dice] characters turn invisible for [Dice] × 10 minutes. Their shadow remains visible. Spellcasting or taking Damage breaks the veil. At 2+ SD, your shadow is concealed; at 3+ SD, sound is muffled; at 4+ SD, affected characters may cast & take Damage while invisible.
- The Steel Twintail: Up to [Dice] targets within 30’ divide Damage they receive by [Dice] (& round down) for [Sum] rounds. Twintails are indestructible for the duration of the spell.
- Colors of the Soul: Target single character within 15’ has their intentions, motives, & desires laid bare to you in a flash of light & color, who gains a permanent +[Dice] bonus on Persuasion Saves against them in the future; if cast repeatedly, only the highest [Dice] is used. If the target loves twintails, or if 3 or more SD are used, you may in the future attempt a Save to divine the target’s likely course of action on a given topic (assuming your information about the topic is correct).
- Twintails of the Goddess: You briefly take on the form of Solar, the twintailed goddess, for [Sum] rounds. The blinding halo surrounding her fills everything within sight with brilliant white light; all characters who do not love twintails are counted as blinded while within line-of-sight of her. Violence against twintail-wearing characters is impossible in her presence. Solar appears as a naked teenage girl with long red twintails.
- The Second Coming of the Gentleman Warriors: Up to [Sum] characters whose spirits are within 120’ of you & who you were personally friends with resurrects. You die. Nobody can recover your spirit. It’s gone.
